MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced the schedule of applications for the Year 2020. Senior high school graduates or candidates for graduation may apply as long as they met the criteria and submit all the necessary requirements of the scholarship program. CHED Regional Office will rank the applicants and issue the Notice of Award shall the student-applicant qualifies for the program.

In the recently released CMO No. 05 series of 2019, CHED itemized all scholarship priority courses for the year 2019-2020. To quote,
The CHED shall likewise prioritize courses aligned with global innovation platforms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri-fisheries and Mathematics (STEAM) as well as the priorities of government in key growth areas such as semiconductor and electronics, business process outsourcing, tourism, general infrastructure and other priority manufacturing industries in the grant of scholarships.
As per CHED, the determination of the priority courses was a result of studies and deliberations conducted by the Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of the representatives of CHED and UniFast secretariat, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Association of State Colleges and Universities (PASUC), and the Coordinating Council for Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA).
Students may enroll at these programs and avail all benefits of CHED scholarship they were qualified in the form of tuition and stipend. Here is the list of CHED scholarship 2020 priority courses:

PSYCHOLOGY PO SANA? AND. NURSING
I am a natural Filipino, a Citizen of the Philippines since birth, and definitely under the Government of the Philippines. I dreamt to become a Nurse and I gave every effort in order to excell in class so my parents would be proud, and at the same time as a role model to my siblings. When I was to become a Fourth Year Student (Year 2016), my parent can no longer support my study because we are sunk in debt (tuition&daily needs). My parents are both farmer and even the land that we owned from our ancestors was no longer ours. I seek financial assistance to CHED for me to continue and I qualified to be their scholar. I was so happy because I can now continue my study. But unfortunately, when I was about to get a scholar's certificate in CHED, one of their Staff noticed that I am a Nursing Student. They nullified my Scholarship even if I had already received a confirmation that I am already a Ched Scholarship Beneficiary. This is because of the so called, "COURSE PRIORITY". I cried because of the hope that vanished in a blink of an eye. To make the story short, I didn't graduate. It is a very painful feeling seeing my classmates received their diploma during graduation and imagining that I am one of them receiving mine too. I stop for 3 years now to seek a job and save money for me to continue my dream profession. I am currently continuing my education now in a Private School but back as a third year student because of the School's Rule, since the Government University's Rule (my School when I stop my study) is for me to be back as a First Year Student. Today I am still agonizing about my large tuition fee and having a hard time for it. I know someday I will be holding my Diploma plus my Nurse License because I have the Lord who never left my side in every circumstances that comes my life. I know I deserve that scholarship. I know I deserve to graduate. I know I deserve to live my dream profession and I know I don't deserve to be in that agony for 3 years and no deserving students should be. I AM A FILIPINO CITIZEN AND I BELIEVE I DESERVE TO BE A SCHOLAR NO MATTER WHAT MY FIELD OF STUDY IS. I believe that the CHED deserves to end this "COURSE PRIORITY".
