ONLINE APPLICATION: July 2020 RadTech & X-Ray Tech Board Exam Schedule

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application, as well as requirements for application in July 2020 Radiologic Technology (RadTech) and X-Ray Tech Licensure Exam.

The board exams for RadTech and X-Ray Techs will be held on July 26-27, 2020 at designated testing locations in NCR/ Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

Below is the detailed schedule for 2020 RadTech and X-Ray Tech licensure exams per PRC Resolution No. 1210 s. 2019 or the Schedule of Licensure Examinations for the Year 2020.

COVID-19/ CORONAVIRUS – ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 dated March 8, 2020 declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country,  and  the recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease to prohibit mass gatherings, PRC postponed the board exams scheduled on March-April 2020 and May-June 2020.

*Due to the extension of Enhanced Community Quarantine until April 30, 2020. PRC advised:

  • For PRC offices in Luzon, all confirmed online appointments until April 30, 2020 will be accommodated beginning May 4, 2020, Mondays to Fridays, during office hours, and until further notice.
  • For PRC offices in Visayas and Mindanao, all confirmed online appointments will be accommodated the next working days following the lifting of any local declaration of community quarantine period, and until further notice.

ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

Applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

RADTECH

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • One (1) Certificate of Good Moral Character Certificate from any of the following:
    • Barangay
    • School
    • Church
    • Employer
  • Payment of P900.00 – complete
  • Payment of P450.00 – removal/ conditioned

X-RAY TECH

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • One (1) Certificate of Good Moral Character Certificate from any of the following:
    • Barangay
    • School
    • Church
    • Employer
  • Payment of P900.00 – complete
  • Payment of  removal / conditioned Board Rating Certificate issued by PRC Copy of Updated X-ray License

COVERAGE OF RADTECH & X-RAY TECH BOARD EXAMS

The July 2020 RadTech board exams covered subjects including the following:

  • Radiologic Physics; Equipment and Maintenance; Radiobiology, Radiation Protection and Quality Assurance 20%; 
  • Image Production and Evaluation 20%; 
  • Radiographic Procedures and Techniques 20%; 
  • Patient Care, Management, Ethics and Jurisprudence, Human Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminologies 20%; and 
  • Radiological Sciences 20%.

Meanwhile, almost same topics are covered in X-Ray Technologist board exam except that the Radiological Sciences are not included.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

In the recent RadTech licensure exams held on July 2019,  2,338 out of 4,505 (51.90%) successfully passed while 64 out of 240 (26.67%) hurdled the X-Ray Tech. Kathleen Cleo Jimenez Leonardo from University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Las Piñas ranked first in the RadTech exams garnering 91.20% rating followed by Rica Ella Fortaleza Bocala from Emilio Aguinaldo College – Dasmariñas and John Mark Licaros Diwan from Dr. P. Ocampo Colleges, both having 91.00% rating. None qualified in the X-Ray Tech licensure exam. Saint Louis University was the top performing school in RadTech board exam having 97.47% overall passing rate followed by University of Makati having 93.44%.

During the July 2018 RadTech board exams, 2,056 out of 4,356 (47.20%) examinees passed while 66 out of 258 (25.58%) examinees hurdled the XRay Tech board exams. Jomar Cabral de Guzman from The Good Samaritan Colleges – Cabanatuan City ranked first in the RadTech exams garnering a rating of 91.00% followed by Mark Marcos Alipio from Davao Doctors’ College, Inc. having 90.40%. In XRay Tech board exam, Eduard Osinsao Nite from College of Our Lady of Mercy of Pulilan Foundation Inc. topped the exams garnering a rating of 88.00% followed by Jose Michael Tamayo Borja from De La Salle University – Health Sciences Institute having 86.25%. In the top performing schools for RadTech, Saint Louis University topped the list having 95.06% overall passing rate followed by Davao Doctors’ College, Inc. having 87.13%.

On July 2017 exams, 1,945 out of 4,195 (46.36%) examinees passed the RadTech while 61 out of 248 (24.60%) passed the X-Ray Tech. Yndhira Xheyenn Cagurangan Laylo from Saint Louis University ranked first in the exams having 91.60% rating followed by Anna Margarita Villanueva Camet from De La Salle University – Health Sciences Institute garnering 91.00%. Saint Louis University was the top performing school having 94.85% overall passing rate followed by Davao Doctor’s College, Inc garnering 83.33%.

During July 2016 exams, 1,639 out of 3,833 (42.76%) passed the Radiologic Technology while 56 out of 213 (26.29%) passed the X-Ray Tech. Jeff Lauren Florencondia Bautista from Wesleyan University Philippines – Cabanatuan City topped the list of topnotchers having 86.75% rating. Saint Louis University (SLU) ranked first in the top performing schools’ list having 89.29% overall rating followed by Davao Doctors’ College, Inc having 81.82%.
