MANILA – The list of the top 30 passers in the November 2022 Bar exams is available here as the Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines releases the results on April 14, 2023.

It is the second time that SC has localized bar exams, not dependent on penmanship as it was done digitally, has reduced coverage of exams, and has not spread out over four (4) consecutive Sundays in a month.

The exams were headed by the 2022 Bar Examinations Chairperson, Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa in partnership with selected Local Government Units (LGUs) nationwide.

Release of 2022 Bar exam results

Update April 2023: The results will be released today, April 14, 2023.

The normal release of results is usually 5-6 months after the exams. But due to the digital conduct of the 2022 Bar exams, it is expected that the November 2022 bar exam results will be released earlier than previous bar exams as examiners can check the answers much quicker. Likewise, the results are expected 3-5 months after the exams.

Before the official posting of results, SC is conducting a special en banc session to decode the bar exam results. This is the process of opening the sealed envelopes with the names of passers.

The list of passers will also be posted at SC’s official website and will be flashed via widescreen at Supreme Court’s front yard. You may also refer to this article as we will also post the names of successful examinees.

The oath-taking of the new lawyers candidates will be announced by SC after the posting of results.

About Bar Exams

The Philippine Bar examination is an annual licensure exam conducted by the Supreme Court of the Philippines through the SC’s Bar Exam Committee. This is the only licensure exam for professionals that is not regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

November 2022 Bar exams is the 120th licensure exams for all aspiring lawyers.

Bar exams are dubbed as the hardest exams in all professional exams in the Philippines. From the year 2010 to 2019, only a 27% average passing rate was recorded. The difficulty in passing is mostly attributed to the growing volume of Philippine cases and statutory laws.

Meanwhile, the highest passing rate was recorded on Batch 2020-2021, having a 72.28% passing rate.

Candidates who have failed three times in the bar exam are not permitted to take it again unless they re-enroll and pass the regular fourth-year review classes and attend a pre-bar review course in an approved school.
