#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions October 15, 2016 (Saturday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on October 15, 2016 (Saturday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to effects of bad weather conditions brought by Tropical Depression “Karen”.

As of 6:00 PM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Saturday, October 15, 2016.


Metro Manila

  • To be updated soon as LGU announced class suspensions…

Provinces

  • Catanduanes – Preschool to Highschool (Public and Private)
  • Cavite – All levels (Public and Private)
  • Sorsogon – Preschool (Public and Private)

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 14 October 2016,

At 4:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm “KAREN” was estimated based on all available data at 205 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.9ºN, 126.1ºE) with maximum sustained winds of up to 100 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 140 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 9 kph.

Stormy weather is expected over Bicol Region. Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Calabarzon and the provinces of Isabela, Quirino,  Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Bulacan, Marinduque and Northern Samar. Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over the rest of Visayas. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Cordillera, rest of Central Luzon, Rest of MIMAROPA, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA and the provinces of Cagayan and Nueva Vizcaya. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the west to southwest over the rest of Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the west to southwest will prevail over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
