#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions October 20, 2016 (Thursday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on October 20, 2016 (Thursday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to effects of bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon “Lawin”.

As of 9:00 PM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Thursday, October 20, 2016.

  • Caloocan City – All levels (Public and Private)

  • Mandaluyong City – All levels (Public and Private)

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 AM, 19 October 2016,

At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon “LAWIN” was located based on all available data at 535 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.1ºN, 127.1ºE) with maximum sustained winds of up to 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 255 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 26 kph.

Stormy weather with rough to very rough seas is expected over the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and the provinces of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and Aurora. Rains and gusty winds with moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the rest of Central Luzon and Ilocos Region, Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes and Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the Southwest to West over the rest of the country. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
